My Story

I discovered my interest in travel when I received that call one day about twenty years ago after applying for a job in the humanitarian field - "We are sending you to Africa, to Sudan, to build a hospital there. When can you depart?". Since then, I had an opportunity to live and work in 36 countries around the globe. Each deployment has sparked a passion for exploration, leading me to discover the beauty of 107 countries worldwide, so far, as I would go and explore around the 'neighborhood'. Yes, it is challenging, sometimes dangerous, but all worth it in the end. I enjoy admiring places with breathtaking landscapes, interesting architecture, mingling in diverse communities with all sort of wonderful people, and getting familiar with their habits and cultures.

Oh yes, and I also take photographs along the way to share it with whoever is interested and for myself as I often go back in time and experience those spectacular moments and locations again and again.

Nevertheless, new photos keep coming as I go to new places. Last summer, I went for a 22,500 miles (36,000+ km) road trip from Texas to Alaska and back. It took me three months driving through eighteen states in US and five provinces in Canada, visiting thirty four national parks, dirt-road drivin' to hard-to-reach places in Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Dawson City in Canada's Yukon and Northwest Territories, crossing Arctic Circle and reaching the Arctic Ocean twice in Tuktoyaktuk (yes, Tuktoyaktuk!) in Canada and Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay in Alaska. The experience of driving on Alaska Highway was spectacular - I was lucky enough to see everyone along the road: bears, reindeer, mountain goats, moose, elk, ravens, and bold eagles. Great bunch to be with!

New ideas are popping in as there are still so many fantastic places to see and capture 'on film'. Stay tuned for a new set of adventure pics coming soon on MOREXPLORE :^)
